Phyllis Contois worked with Us for about 8 Years, She was a dedicated , willing Volunteer and was greatly appreciated for Her support. 

She passed away last Fall after a lengthy illness. She is survived by Her two Children Michele and Michael, and many Friends.  We at Keeping Kids Warm will miss Her greatly.

WILMOTT, Hazel Joan - past unexpectedly, but peacefully at University Hospital, with family by her side on Sunday, September 20, 2020 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Ken Wilmott (2019). Dear mother of Kevin Wilmott of Surrey, British Columbia and Karen Hodgins (Nick) of Mount Brydges. Dear grandmother of Michelle Gunniss (Calvin), Morgan Hodgins, Brady Hodgins, Stephanie Gillott (Andrew) and Victoria Sinclair (Levi). Great grandmother of Stella and Naiomi Gunniss, Lachlan and Leo Gillott and Lucy Sinclair. Sister of Gillian Watts of North Baddersley, England. Predeceased by her sister Valerie. Sister-in-law of Christopher, St. Albans, UK and Grahame, Saffron Walden, UK.

Hazel Joan Mitten was born in St. Leonards-on-Sea, England on March 4, 1932. Her first job was as at French’s Shoe Store Children’s Department, Southampton. Hazel and Ken Wilmott were married in England on June 27, 1953. Her son Kevin was born on August 3, 1954 and her daughter Karen was born on April 28, 1958. Hazel and her family emigrated to Canada in July of 1968. She was a long-time Federal Government Employee. On retirement in 1995, Hazel pursued her creative side, joining the Canadian Embroiders Guild of London. She was especially passionate about the work of Keeping Kids Warm, knitting and fundraising to support their efforts. She was also a great help to Rotary, especially as a ‘mum’ to many Rotary international exchange students. Hazel was a generous, fun-loving, hilarious woman who will be missed by many.

Visitation ‪on Friday, September 25 from 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home. Visitation is by appointment only; RSVP to Harris Funeral Home, ‪519-433-7253. Private family service at Harris Funeral Home on Saturday. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions to Keeping Kids Warm, The Rotary Foundation (Canada), or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated.
